Being a resort island, there’s plenty of activities on the island. For a full list you can peruse on the official website.
However, below are couple of activities that we believe you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Great Barrier Reef
You can cross off 1 of the 7 natural wonders on your bucket list. You will probably find Dory and Crush(🐢) hanging around.
Heart Reef
See one of the world’s most spectacular waterways from the air, including the stunningly romantic Heart Reef, a beautiful coral arrangement in the shape of a heart.
Hamilton Island Wildlife (🐨 Koala Encounter)
Queensland is one of three Australian states that allows visitors to hold a koala. For my international friends, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia are the three states. If you don’t plan on visiting Brisbane or Gold Coast, you should make a pit stop here.
Whitehaven Beach
You’ve never been to a beach till you’ve been to Whitehaven. A beach where its name is truly self-describing. The sand is so soft that it squeaks with every step. Fun fact: NASA used to buy sand from Whitehaven to make glass.
Hamilton Island Golf Course
The 18-hole, par 71 Hamilton Island Golf Course is said to be one of the most challenging in the world. Designed by five time British Open winner Peter Thomson, and taking full advantage of Mother Nature’s work, the course is strung along the spectacular ridges and steep valleys of Dent Island.
Hamilton Island Icons Trail
Grab your walking buddies and take part in a free hike around the Hamilton Island walking trails to find our four iconic landmarks; a 3m tall chair, a giant swing, a hammock and a breathtaking panoramic viewing platform.
